Coaching Committee Leagues

Stepping stones for novives and intermediaries to improve and enjoy their archery more.

 

The coaches committee has approved the following leagues as an avenue to assist novice and intermediate archers:

 

A. Novice League

72 arrows from 30m [20m for U12s] shot on the full 80cm target face, with only club teams of 3 being listed (to avoid novice archers being embarrassed by their scores being published). Competency certificates will be awarded when an archer shoots a score of 480. Archers who shoot a score of 590 will be excluded from shooting Novice League they must move on to the next leagues.

 

B. Progress League

72 arrows from 5Oin (40m for U 12s) shot on the 122cm target face, with only club teams of 3 being listed [to avoid individual embarrassment]. Competency certificates will be awarded when an archer shoots a score of 480. Archers why shoot a scone of 590 will be excluded from shooting Progress League ---- they must move on to the next leagues.

 

C. DISA League

36 arrows at each of 60m & 50m on the 122cm face and 40m & 30m on the full 80cm face. This league is open to all archers. Score achievement badges may be claimed as follows:

Personal Best distance & DISA scores will be kept for each archer, and, after an archer has shot three DISA leagues, PB points will be accumulated by surpassing their previous Personal Best scores [e.g. PB = 280 and 286 is shot, then 6 PB Points are earned]. The 3 archers with the highest PB count for the year will be awarded medals.

 

D. M & U League

This league is aimed at Matric & University students with limited shooting time available, and, is restricted to under 25 year olds. A half FITA round of 18 arrows at each distanced being shot.

The motivation for starting these leagues is to give novice and intermediate archers the early opportunity to enjoy shooting with and against others of similar levels of experience, making their archery more enjoyable.
